Warren St. ideas conceptualized

April 18, 2013

This sketch brings to life one possible new look for Warren Street, looking north near Pine Street. Local artist Charles Milligan incorporated some of the landscape, concrete, lighting and public art design elements under consideration. This sketch, one of four, and other visuals can be viewed at City Hall and on the city’s website. Illustration by Charles Milligan

An ongoing collaboration between the city and the community of Bishop is continuing to breathe life into a major street improvement project and now the public can get a Technicolor peek into the possible future of a new main street.
Full-color art sketches and conceptional drawings depicting how possible Warren Street Improvement Project design elements might converge for a new look at Bishop’s proposed new main street are available for public viewing at City Hall and on the Public Works page at www.ca-bishop.us.
In addition, a Public Works booth at this Saturday’s Earth Day event in Bishop City Park will be manned by Public Works Director David Grah. He will be able to discuss future, present and past aspects of the Warren Street Improvement Project with the public, such as how the project has evolved from its 2007 roots as the North Warren Street Project.
