Terry Marie (Reed) Sepsey
Terry Marie (Reed) Sepsey was born on Feb. 24, 1956 at Northern Inyo Hospital in Bishop and passed quietly at Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nev. on March, 3 2013 with her children by her side. She was 57 and a beautiful and loving young woman.
Born to Nancy and Edwin âSandyâ Reed, Terry was the younger of two daughters.
Having lived most of her life in the Owens Valley, Terry enjoyed the outdoors, working with friends and lovingly raised four children, Daniel, Amber, Ryan and Rahn.
Terry was preceded in death by her son, Rahn Robert Harvey, and her husband, Jack Gordon Sepsey.
Through the course of her life, besides raising her four children, Terry always worked to help others. Terry began her career in the service industry before transitioning into child care at the Bishop Paiute Tribal Day Care Center where she cooked and cared for children for many years. Terry then moved on to the Owens Valley Observatory working for Caltech University. There she found a home, caring for, and working with, her new âwork family.â She cooked, she cleaned, she supported, she harassed and loved like no other.
Terry loved the Owens Valley. She loved basking in the valleyâs summer time sunshine and warmth. Terry loved the outdoors. She loved camping with friends and family and she loved wandering through the valleys and hills in search of its hidden treasures.
Then there was ZZ. Oh how Terry loved ZZ Top. Terry would chase them anywhere to hear them play live. Her son Danielâs first album just happened to be a ZZ Top cassette that Santa brought to him when he was a little one. One of her girlfriends was even going to write ZZ Top on her toes while she lay in the hospital. You can ask her girlfriend Patty about the toe story.
Terry did, however, love her children most of all. Even though they did test her to the limits (just as most kids do to their parents), she loved them through thick and thin. Then Terryâs grandchildren came along â she was now Gramma!!! Terry fell in love with those babies just as they did her. It wasnât just her children and grandchildren that held a place in her heart. Terry loved all of the children in her life. Whether it was her nieces and nephews and their children or just the neighborhood kids, she loved them all as her own.
Terry enjoyed life to its fullest. She always accepted lifeâs challenges while caring for family and friends with that wonderful smile, dry wit, and strong, stubborn âGit-ter Doneâ attitude.
Terry is survived by her parents, Nancy and Edwin âSandyâ Reed; her sister and brother-in-law, Laurie and Tom Peek; her four children â son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Andrea Morgan, daughter and son-in-law Amber and Richard Tietjen, son Ryan Harvey, and stepdaughter Coral Clay and her son, Cameron; five grandchildren, Taylor and Kiley Tietjen, and Owen, Weston and Bodin Morgan; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, greatnieces and greatnephews.
Survivors also include her three loving dogs, Buddy, Cowboy and Mitzi.
A graveside service for Terry Marie Sepsey will be held at the Line Street Cemetery on March 23 at 2 p.m., followed by her âCelebration of Lifeâ and potluck lunch at the Elks Lodge in Bishop. Everyone is encouraged to bring a dish and a story.
Flowers or cards can be sent to 2003 Van Loon Ln. in Bishop. Monetary donations can be made to the Terry M. Sepsey Memorial Fund at El Dorado Bank.
The family would also like to send out special thanks to all Terryâs friends, coworkers and extended family for the outpouring of love and support through these past four weeks.
