Betty Jean Bush
Betty has gone to her final home with the Lord. She was born in Shinnston, W.V. Aug. 7, 1950 to David and Amy Bush. She attended college before going into the Army in 1970 where she was a Podiatry Tech at William Beaumont and Walter Reed Hospitals.
After the military, she moved to Oxnard in 1978. She got into the Civil Service at Port Hueneme Naval Base as a financial analyst and retired in 2003.
“BJ” and I traveled in her motorhome until we settled in Bishop in 2006. We were each other’s companion for 35 years. BJ was a friend like everyone should be blessed with. BJ’s special gift was sharing Christ through her servant’s heart. She loved helping others and loved to talk. I will remember her as an honest hardworking and humble woman. She was a faithful friend and dedicated follower of Christ. Her personality made it easy for her to make friends anywhere.
She is survived by brother David Bush and his wife, Nancy, their daughter, Lessa and her sons, Zane and Ian; her extended family of Pat Hutto, two daughters, son-in-law, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a sister, nephew and his wife and their son.
God has taken home one of his precious children. She will be missed by us all. The void will be easily filled with great memories.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2 at the East Line Street Cemetery with Pastor Rick Klug of Calvary Baptist Church of Bishop officiating.
