Lois Van Skike
Lois Van Skike passed away on Feb. 12, 2013.
She lived in Shelton, Wash. with her daughter, Kathryn and her husband, William.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Charles N. Van Skike.
She is survived by three children, Julius Van Skike and Karyl (Whitney) Van Skike, in Ritzville, Wash., Toby Van Skike and Suzanne (Cushing) Van Skike in Benson, Ariz. and Kathryn (Van Skike) Sundquist and William Sundquist in Shelton. Lois also had nine grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Charles and Lois lived in Owens Valley for approximately 12 years and then they moved to Arizona. After Charles passed away in 2005 Lois lived with her son, Toby until 2008 in Arizona, when she moved up to Washington State to be with her daughter, Kathryn. Lois rested comfortably and peacefully at home where she passed away; she did not suffer, she just went to sleep in Jesus.
Julius, Toby and Kathryn have very fond memories of growing up with a loving mom and dad, learning to be loving and caring as well. Lois and Charlie’s children have been and will continue to be, very close knit.
Lois was cremated and will be placed with Charles in a National Veteran’s Cemetery in Kent, Wash. Lois was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She lived a great part of her life in the Owens Valley.
At the request of Lois, there will be no memorial service, however, if you were thinking of sending flowers, her children would like to suggest that you put that money towards your local Disabled American Veterans, one of Lois’ favorite charities, in her name.
