Two routs don't make a wrong
Lone Pine Eagle Mike Cappello scored an estimated zillion points as the Eagles sailed to a 98-46 win over the Cornerstone Christian Crusaders in round one of CIF playoffs Wednesday night on home court.
The High Desert League Bishop Broncos got skunked in the first round of CIF basketball playoffs, losing to seventh ranked Campbell Hall, 76-35.

"I was proud of the fight the team showed against a very tough team in Campbell Hall," said coach Ben Arcularius. "The kids didn't quite and played pretty even basketball in the second half after getting down big early. I would like to congratulate the team for a great season and for reaching our goal of league champions. I would also like to congratulate the three seniors, Cy Scott, Jarred Ruelas and Roman Amisone, on not only great seasons but fine careers here at Bishop High."

At the other end of Owens Valley, the Lone Pine Eagles were also on the other end of the basketball spectrum with a 98-46 win over the Cornerstone Christian Crusaders.
The Crusaders put up a good fight, but it was obvious from the first minutes of the game, this was a mismatch.
Lone Pine won the coin toss and will have home court advantage in tomorrow's second round. According to Eagles coach Scott Kemp, the Eagles will take on the Calvary Baptist Crusaders at 7 p.m. The Eagles are ranked eighty in Div. 6; the Crusaders, ninth. This will not be a mismatch.
