Pauline Peters, 85, resident of Bishop for 58 years, born in Chicago, Ill. on Nov. 9, 1927, passed away on Jan. 29, 2013 on her return home from Loma Linda Hospital.
Polly and Tom moved to Bishop in 1955 from Reseda, Calif. with their family. She worked at Northern Inyo Hospital for 35 years as a nurse then as the Medical Records Librarian until her retirement in 1989. Since her retirement, she enjoyed spending her time with family and friends. Polly and Tom have been married for 64 years.
She is survived by her husband Tom (Pete) Peters Sr.; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom Peters Jr. and Rebecca; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Steven Swaner; seven grandchildren, Phillip Peters and wife Angel, Joshua Peters and wife Molly, Wesley Swaner and wife Marie, Aaron Swaner, Brent Swaner, Kristin Swaner and Heather Shubert and husband James; 14 great-grandchildren, Rachael Payne and husband Tom, Deion, Austin, Paige, Sterling and Tiffany Peters, Wyatt Peters, Cage Gray and wife Rachael, Rilegh, Draiven and Rhett Swaner; Dillon and Drew Shubert, Cole and Bayden Swaner; two great-greatgrandchildren, Haig and Landon; sister-in-law, Beth Holmes; nephews, Maurice Holmes, his wife and family and Roger Holmes; and two brothers, Stephen Holmes and Keith Holmes.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church in Bishop. Pastor Rick Klug will officiate.
