Beatrice ‘Betty’ Miller-Bever

1925-2012

 

Beatrice “Betty” Miller-Bever returned to her Father in Heaven on Dec. 19, 2012. She is survived by her three loving daughters, Rayetta Haskin, Beatrice E. Frazier and Nancy J. Frazier; eight beautiful grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was born Dec. 9, 1925 in Beatty Switch, Miss. to Toliver McAfee Miller and Colleen Lorene Armstrong. Betty’s parents migrated to Mississippi from Germany. Betty grew up in West, Miss. and moved to California in 1945. Betty lived in Lone Pine from 1958 to 1998. She also lived in Beatty, Nev. for many years and finally settled in Charleston View with her daughter Rayetta and son-in-law Gerald Haskin Sr. Betty lived 28 years with her daughter and son-in-law who loved and cared for her very much.

Betty is best known for her bright red hair and her love of dancing. She worked for 40 years as a waitress. Betty greatly enjoyed keeping cups of coffee hot and smiles on customers faces in Lone Pine and Beatty. She was a member of the Pahrump Manse Springs Ward – LDS church. She greatly enjoyed going to church and the fellowship among members. Her family and friends will remember her courageous fighting spirit as she battled 28-years of illnesses. She was an extraordinary person, mother, grandmother, friend and she was constantly thinking of others. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS, 1451 E. Locust St. in Lone Pine. Interment will be at Mt. Whitney Cemetery and following the services please gather at the LDS Church for the potluck.
