Local law enforcement officials partnered up with dozens of local youngsters Saturday to help the kids shop for Christmas presents for their families. Law enforcement agencies from virtually every community in the Eastern Sierra, using money from their own Peace Officers’ Associations, provided $200 to each youngster participating in the annual Shop With a Cop event at Kmart in Bishop. The morning kicked off with breakfast at Whiskey Creek in Bishop before the youngsters got to go on a ride-along, with lights and sirens blazing, down Main Street. After completing their Christmas shopping, the kids (and even their cop partners, in some cases) got to sit on Santa’s lap and share what they want for Christmas.
