Virginia ‘Jeannie’ M. Anderson



Virginia “Jeannie” M. Anderson, a 20-year resident of Bishop, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at the Bishop Care Center.

Jeannie was born in Los Angeles on March 27, 1926 to John and Maria Ortiz Noleman and spent her childhood years growing up in Los Vegas and Los Angeles.

It was in Los Angeles that Jeannie met and married Arnold Bernard Anderson in May of 1943 and the couple began raising their family of four children.

During World War II, Jeannie worked for Douglas Aircraft as a riveter helping to build military aircraft. She also, loved to listen and dance to Big Band Era music and was an accomplished singer.

She is survived by her four children, Robert (Mary) Anderson, William (Barbara) Anderson, John (Jacky) Anderson and Julie Anderson; sisters, Jacqulyn Sonnek, Marguerite Osuna and Patricia Belgarde; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arnold; and brother Robert Noleman.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Bishop Care Center for the care given to their mother.

A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at the Brune Mortuary, and a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at the East Line Street Cemetery in Bishop, with Father John Gracey officiating.
