Michelle Lynn Blain

On Nov. 4, we awoke to the sad news Michelle Lynn Blain had died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Lake Arrowhead. She was 51 years of age.

Shelley was born in Inglewood, Calif. Sept. 22, 1961 and attended school in Long Beach, graduating from Milikan High School. She went on to college at University of Iowa and finished her doctorate degree in Pharmacy at USC. She then went on to Pepperdine University where she obtained an MBA in Business.

She was united in marriage to Steve Hupp and to that union her daughter, Jade Alexandra Hupp, was born.

She worked in the health care industry for several years and started and ran her independent pharmacy in Lake Arrowhead until death.

Shelley was a charismatic soul. She loved travel, learning new things, rock and roll, and running off on adventures. She always thirsted for knowledge and had a hunger for books that was never satisfied. She was very philosophical and always searched for her next grand adventure. She loved outdoor sports, especially snow and water-skiing and she had a very competitive attitude and always challenged the boys to keep up with her.

Shelley is survived by her daughter, Jade Alexandra Hupp Shedd, and Jade’s husband, Jace, of Brea; brother, Mark of Bishop, and his daughter, Breanne, and son, Tyler, of Henderson, Nev.; mother and father, Larry and Martha Blain of Bishop; grandmother, Josephine Blain, aunt, Mary Ann and husband Neil Toland, uncles, Richard and wife Marie Flynn and Lynn and wife Marsha Blain, all of Iowa; and many cousins and family friends.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Home Street in Bishop. Father John Gracey will officiate, and burial will follow at the East Line Street Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 at Brune Mortuary Chapel in Bishop.
