Julia Lee Houser

1926-2012

Julia was born to Maus Justice and Julia Lee (Bills) Elliott in Los Angeles. She transitioned in Susanville, with family by her side, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Julia led a full life. She loved gardening, interior design, and her family. She worked for Caltrans for many years and was very active in the Redding Church of Religious Science, and later the Science of Mind Church in Bishop.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Berner; husband, Leland Friedline; sister, Mae Alyce Davidson and grandson, Theodore Lee Friedline, II.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Berner) Simcox of Bishop and her husband Jerry; son, Stephen Friedline of Bishop and his wife Jennifer and grandson, Billie Lozano; son, Theodore Friedline of Susanville and his wife Anita Osborn; and grandsons, Skyler and Carson Friedline.

Enormous appreciation is extended to the staff at Eagle Lake Village in Susanville for their loving care of Julia over these past six years.

A celebration of life will be held there at a later date.

Donations in Julia’s memory will be most welcome at the animal shelter of one’s choosing.
