Broncos’ tennis still undefeated in league

The Bishop Lady Broncos hosted the Desert Scorpions Saturday at the City Park courts. Final score: Bishop 13, Desert 5.
The Broncos doubles teams scored seven wins, nosing out the singles players at six.
Katie Tanksley and Tessa Wright kept their three matches suspenseful, going 5-4 in each before winning 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.
Tara Gardner and Hope McIndoo won all three of their sets, 6-1, 6-2 and 6-3. Taylor Stoll and Bronwyn Stephenson scored the final doubles win in a tie-breaker at 8-6.
The singles players all won two of their three matches for the day. Madi Taylor won 6-1, 6-1 with a 4-6 loss. Ashlee Lee won 6-1, 6-0 with a 0-6 loss and Ricki Willey won 6-2, 6-2 with a 2-6 loss.
Bishop holds onto first place in High Desert League with one more match at Kern Valley this Thursday.
League individuals competition will be held in Bishop, Thursday, Oct. 25 followed by CIF team competition the following week.
