Una Belle Frost

Una Belle Frost was born June 17, 1926 in Oklahoma and died Oct. 3, 2012 in Bishop, where she was a 72 year resident.

Una Belle attended elementary school in Denton, Texas and high school at Bishop Union High. In July 1947, she married Howard E. Frost with a garden wedding. She gave birth to her only child, Christy. She grew up with her brother, William A. Morris and sister, Martha Wooten.

She loved sewing for Christy and herself. She embroidered, watercolor painted, knitted and crocheted.

She made toys for Christy and all of her nephews and nieces for Christmas. Her favorite color was the rainbow. Una Belle enjoyed geography, fairs and rodeos. At the Tri-County Fair in Bishop, she won blue ribbons for her knitted and sewn clothing. When her two granddaughters, Tenisi and Ivana, came along, she enjoyed making clothes and toys for them. When she first saw her great-grandson, Christian she said, “Perfect, he’s just perfect” with a proud smile on her face.

Una Belle is preceded in death by her mother, Mrytle Wooten; and step-father, Albert Wooten; and her brother, William A. Morris.

She is survived by her sister, Martha Ann Tjarks of El Monte; nieces, Roberta Serna of Bishop and Debra Proffitt of La Puente; daughter, Christy Frost of Victorville; granddaughters, Ivana Siufanga of Fresno and Tenisi Siufanga of Victorville; great-grandson, Christian Wheeler of Victorville; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

A special thank you goes to Bishop Care Center for their loving care of Una Belle, to Pat Barton, and Brune Mortuary.
