Helena Ray Spratt, age 18, born in Bishop on March 29, 1994, passed away in Bishop on Sept. 23, 2012. 

Helena enjoyed life, her family and friends, listening to music, Pow-Wows, Bear Dances and her dog Keon. To know her was to love her. She gave all she had to any one in need. Her beauty, compassion and free spirit will be missed and cherished by all who knew her. 

Helena is survived by her mother, Tennille Torres; dad, James Spratt, Jr.; stepdads, Scott Vega and Jon Braithwaite; grandparents, Louie and Valeria Torres, Dennis and Kelli Johnson, Madeline Patterson and Loretta Spratt; great-grandma, Kathleen Springer; sisters, MaNeSe Braithwaite, Katelyne Lent, Deborah Vega and Jaylene Brown; brothers, James Spratt, III, Jaydan, Jrew, Edua and Shaun Braithwaite, and Joseph and Joshua Vega, Andrew Brown; favorite nephew, Hai’nanu Ray Spratt; sister-in-law, Cierra Temple; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, boyfriend Eddy Rios, and friends. 

Preceded in death by grandparents, Carlos and Helen Herrera, Squawman Spratt and Betty Rambeau; uncle, Ray Torres; cousins, Broady Bengochia and Jorge “Piggy” Esparza. 

A Cry Dance will be held Thursday, Sept. 27 at 869 See Vee Ln. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 28 at the Brune Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be at Sunland Indian Cemetery.
