Frances ‘Arline’ Durey Noble

Frances “Arline” Durey Noble, born March 28, 1920, in Dundee, Iowa, passed away Sep. 18, 2012 in Bridgeport. Arline lived the first part of her life in Iowa as well as in Missouri for a while. The family moved to California in 1957 where Arline lived in Canoga Park, Reseda, Paradise, Lancaster and Bridgeport. Arline’s parents Floyd and Cora Durey, four of her sisters and five of her brothers preceded her in death.

Her husband of 58 years, Marvin Oliver, passed away in January of 1999 followed by a grandson in January of 2001.

She is survived by four sisters, Eloise Kaltenbach of Iowa, Lorna Zupke of Iowa, Shirley Thrall of California and JoAnn Strawn of Iowa; two brothers, Daren Durey and George Durey, both of Iowa; her seven children, Charles, Larry, Keith, Janice, Steve, Marcia and Craig, and their spouses; 19 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Arline loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and strove to bring glory to Him whether in tending to her home and family, singing and helping in the churches she attended, or working as a seamstress/tailor for her family friends and others. Her life was a living out of her desire that all would come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ and accept Him as their personal Savior. She touched many lives in her 92-plus years and will be missed by all.

There will be an informal time of celebrating Arline’s life on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 at son Steve’s home in Bridgeport. Arline will be buried in Paradise Cemetery in Paradise, on Oct. 26 with her family service there on Oct. 27.
