1930-2012

 

Rosie was a longtime Bishop resident.  She died in Morgan Hill on Thursday, July 19, 2012.

She was born on June 8, 1930 in Hardin, Mont. to William and Anna (Heintz) Gress. She married G.D. (Buster) Heedick on March 29, 1952 in Los Angeles.  They moved from Los Angeles back to Rosie’s hometown of Hardin in 1959, but after just two years, moved to Bishop, which was Buster’s hometown. She loved caring for children and provided daycare to many children in Bishop over the years. She also enjoyed doing all sorts of arts and crafts, especially making carousel horses.

She is survived by her son, Jamie Scott Heedick of Reno;  her daughter, Karin Link (Barry) of Gilroy; grandchildren, Chad Link, Tracey Link and Heather Link of Gilroy and Kirsty Heedick of Reno; and great-grandson, Karter Lee Jimenez of Reno. She is also survived by siblings, Barbara Hilstad, Catherine Schindler, Francis Burnett and Marcus Gress.

Rosie was predeceased by her husband, Buster Heedick; her parents; brothers, George, Peter, Anton, William Jr., Benny, Frank, Mike, Johnny and Bobby; and sisters, Gustina, Eva, Annie and Margaret.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 18, 2012 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bishop. A reception immediately following the funeral will take place at the parish hall. She will be buried at West Line Street Cemetery alongside her husband.

Rosie was caring, outgoing and giving, and loved her family and friends more than anything. She will be greatly missed by all.
