Delwyn ‘Del’ E. Hronesh

Delwyn ‘Del’ E. Hronesh passed away Wednesday evening, March 28, 2012 at the South Lyon Medical Center/Long Term Care in Yerington, Nevada. He was 88.
Del was born in Santa Ana on Aug. 2, 1923 the son of Edward and Viva (Worthy) Hronesh.
Del entered the US Navy upon graduation from high school in 1942. He served more than three years in the Navy, receiving Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon, Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Presidential Unit Citation. After his service he went to work in the oil fields in Ventura. He married MaryLou Miller in Anaheim on Aug. 20, 1950.
They moved to the Owens Valley in 1962 where he worked for Inyo County Road Department in Independence until his disability retirement in 1977. They also lived in Bishop for 20 years. He lived the past 12 years in Yerington. Del was a member of the Bishop Elks Lodge, #1603 and was a member of the Bishop VFW.
Del is survived by his wife of more than 61 years, MaryLou Hronesh of Yerington; his son, Mark and his wife, Nancy Hronesh of Colorado; and his daughter, Jan M. Hronesh of Carson City, Nev.
Del’s graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 4 at the Independence Cemetery in Independence. The Bishop BPOE Lodge #1603 will be officiating.
