The Lone Pine Golden Eagles whooped the Trona Tornadoes at home, March 7, then traveled to Trona and did the same Monday afternoon.
The softball Lady Eagles won 11-3; the baseball Eagles won 13-3.
Samantha Riesen struck out the first three batters of the game, setting the tone for the Eagles’ defense.
Deserae Coats finished off on the mound with two strikeouts and a strong defense behind her.
“Rachel Martin made a nice double play at second,” said coach Liz Jones.
The Eagles dominated at the plate with a total of 13 singles, and two triples, both by Zaida Luque. Once on base, Lone Pine couldn’t be stopped, ending the game with 16 stolen bases.

The Eagles nine were lagging the Tornadoes, 2-3, going into the seventh inning, then erupted with a 10-run final at bat to claim the 13-3 win.
