Margaret Ann Frazer
Born Jan. 7, 1924 in Bishop, to Laura Francis McKeen and Roy Caldron Lyon, Margaret Ann Frazer passed away Jan. 15, 2012 in Shasta Lake. She was 88.
Maggie was the granddaughter of Edmund Eastman McKeen (1866-1934) and Lulu May Meroney (1874-1960), both of Owens Valley Pioneer families, and the youngest of five girls born to Roy and Laura Lyon. The McKeen family migrated to Bishop, then known as Bishop Creek, in 1889 and established a mercantile with a small eatery and bakery on Main Street near West Line Street. The Meroney family established a stage coach stop at Fish Slew in the 1870s.
John Edgar Meroney, Lulu’s brother, was the Inyo County Clerk during the 1900s.
Maggie married Jack Frazer in the Methodist Church in Bishop on June 13, 1947. They had four children, Russ and his wife Sandy of Pleasant Hill, John of Carmel, Carol Thomson of Shasta Lake and Jeff of Yuma, Ariz.
Maggie was buried next to her husband in the McKeen family plot at East Line Street Cemetery in Bishop.
