Bishop Lady Broncos Basketball
The Broncos, third in High Desert League at 6-4, head to San Bernardino to take on the Aquinas Falcons Thursday at 7 p.m. The Falcons ended the season with an 11-3 record, second in the Ambassador League.
The Falcons have two double-digit scorers: 5-foot-9 freshman Lindsey Ybarra and 5-foot-3 Corinna Smith. The Broncos have two as well in Shiloh Smith and Tamia Shoshone. But, Katelyne Lent and Brooke Callahan put up impressive numbers toward the end of the season.
Both Bishop soccer squads will play host in their first playoff rounds. The Lady Broncos, co-champions in the High Desert League at 8-1-1, oddly enough ended up in a wild card round against Riverside Prep, the third place team in the Cross Valley League. The Lady Silver Knights have a 2-5-2 record. Start time is scheduled, tentatively, for 3 p.m.
The Broncos, second in HDL at 7-1-2, host the New Community Jewish Jaguars, 6-2 and second in the Liberty League, Thursday at 5 p.m.
Big Pine Warriors Basketball
As Hi-Lo League champion the Warriors, 7-1, are at home tomorrow at 7 p.m. against the Bethel Christian Eagles from Lancaster. The Eagles finished third in the Cross Valley League with a 6-6 record.
Bethel has no double-digit shooters. The Warriors have powerhouses Suma Davis and Jesse Chirrick, with Micah Bacoch coming on strong.
