Edward Samuel Blair
Edward Samuel Blair, 88 years young resident of Bishop, Calif. for 18 years.
Born April 23, 1923 in St. Louis, Mo.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4 at Brune Mortuary. Following the service, there will be a barbecue/gathering at 32 Coldwater Rd., Chalfant Valley with family and friends. Please come and share your tall tales of Ed, fishing or not.
As per his request, no flowers!
Ed was preceded in death by his father, William, mother, Ada Blair, and two nephews.
He loved fishing at the reservoir and Lake Sabrina. He enjoyed his freedom of life in Bishop. His favorite adventures were road trips. He loved traveling to Baja California where he enjoyed visiting with his good friends, eating good food and enjoying mucho cerveza.
Ed was a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division in the Army during World War II. He was very proud to serve his country.
He is survived by his brother, Tom and wife Hester Blair of Oklahoma; sons, Eddie and wife Donna, Steve and wife Debbie, Scott and wife Belinda; daughter, Cindy and husband Kevin; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two nephews, 14 great-nieces and great-nephews, and six great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. He will be greatly missed by his dearest friends, Audrey and Earl Moyer. Ed had many friends, including his Dial-a-Ride family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed’s memory to VFW Post 8988.
