Allison Mae VerHoef
On Dec. 24 at 5:15 p.m., with her daughter by her side, Allison Mae VerHoef took her last breath of life. Just as she lived her life, she departed this world with a great deal of dignity and grace.
She had a very strong faith in the Lord, which sustained her throughout her life. She will forever be remembered by those who knew her for her generosity and loving nature.
Born in Cape Girardeau, Mo. in 1916, to Tom and Clara Sitton; she was the seventh of nine children. Allison and her family moved to Santa Ana in 1922. In addition to being a loving mother and homemaker, Allison worked at First American Title Company for many years. In 1983, she moved to Bishop where she made her home for the remaining years of her life.
Allison was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Northern Inyo Hospital Auxiliary. Her favorite activities were baking, making fudge and playing cards.
She is survived by her daughter, Minta Ozolins; grandchildren, Rusty Ozolins, and Lori and Ken Baggett; two great-grandchildren, Lily and Sarah, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31 at at the First United Methodist Church in Bishop.
