Lorene W. Lovell
Lorene Wilson Lovell, of Oklahoma, born Nov. 8, 1913 in Haywood, Okla.; passed away Nov. 11, 2011 in Yukon, Okla. at the age of 98. Lorene was raised in Oklahoma and married Ulis “Eude” Lovell in 1934. They moved to Bishop in 1950 and lived in Rovana for 14 years while Eude worked for Union Carbide, then they moved to Rosamond in 1964 where they lived for 23 years. Lorene was a custodian for Southern Kern Unified School District for several years. Lorene was always an Oklahoman at heart, and after her husband passed away, she moved to Lane, Okla. in 1989 where she enjoyed many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ulis “Eude” Lovell; and son, James Orvall Lovell.
She is survived by the following nephews and nieces: Richard Wilson, and wife Susan of Elk Grove, Tommie Tallon, and wife Wanda of Yukon, Okla., Bill Tallon, and wife Paulette of Bishop, Nancy McMurtrie, and husband John of Bishop, John Tallon of Bishop; Ed Russell of Bishop; Sherrel Battles of Chillicothe, Ohio and Donald Wilson, and wife Shirley of Los Angeles; numerous cousins, and great nieces and nephews.
Lorene was an expert quilter and pie maker. She used to love to go fishing. She was very independent, loved to be on the go, and drove her car until she was in her mid-90’s. She especially loved her Mama and Daddy, Zulmee and James “Allen” Wilson, who lived all of their lives in Bishop.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 26, 2011 at the East Line Street Cemetery in Bishop for Lorene.
We will truly miss Lorene’s special presence in our lives.
