Daniel F. Farris, age 77, resident of Bishop for 29 years, born in Tulare on March 22, 1934, passed away Nov. 6, 2011 at Northern Inyo Hospital.
Dan was a third generation Californian and mule packer of the Sierra Nevada Western Slope in the Sequoia Park area and packed and guided folks into the wilderness out of the Mammoth Lakes area since 1964.
Preceded in death by Patsy Ann Farris; brother, Phillip Austin; and stepson, Bobby Farris.
Survived by sister and husband, Penny and David Barville of Coupeville, Wash.; nephew and wife, Mark and Lisa Barville of Kona, Hawaii; niece and husband, Becky and David Johnson of Auberry; nephew and wife, Curtis and Jill Barville of Spokane, Wash.; former wife, Mary-Ann Farris; and stepdaughter, Michelle Tracey.
Memorial service to be held at a later time.
