Harold D. Lawson
Harold D. Lawson was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on March 10, 1925. He passed peacefully on Nov. 3, 2011.
Hal joined the Marine Corps in 1946 and served during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
In 1969, he married Rose Major who preceded him in death in 1993 after 24 years of marriage.
Hal lived and worked in Independence as a commercial field representative for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. He later transferred to Los Angeles and worked as an energy auditor until he retired in 1992 after 32-years of service.
Survivors include: son, David (Linda) Lawson of Arlington, Texas; daughter, Pam Sullivan of Palm Springs; son, Richard (Gerry) Major of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter, Sharron (Joe) Andrews of Independence; grandsons, Vince Perrotta of Los Angeles, Blake (Penny) Andrews of Bend, Ore. and Bret (Donna) Major of Colorado Springs; granddaughters, Sara Lawson and Maggie Lawson of Arlington and Cyndi (Dan) Raftevold of Bishop; great-grandchildren, Tarah Major, Krysta Major, Sydney Major, Romi Andrews, Reef Andrews, Katie Raftevold, Joe Raftevold, Joey Medora and Brynley Raftevold.
The family is saddened by the passing of Hal but is at peace in knowing that Hal is resting in peace with the Lord in Heaven, reunited with those he loved and missed. Hal will always be remembered as the perfect gentleman, always dressed in his finest attire. Hal treated people with a kindness that made everyone feel special. He will be missed by all who were blessed to have him in their life.
The family would like to Thank Southern Inyo Hospital for their loving care that they gave Hal in his final days.
A private family service will take place at a later date.
