Lorraine grew up and attended school in the Beulah, N.D. area where she met and married Harold Walter Pischel on Oct. 25, 1949.
Lorraine and Harold moved around the western United States while Harold worked as an underground miner and at times Lorraine worked as a retail clerk. They finally settled in Mina, Nev. Craft club was something she really enjoyed along with trips to Hawthorne or the old Montgomery Pass. Harold passed away suddenly in 2007 and Lorraine began living in Lone Pine and Bishop with her children, where she enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She looked forward to family gatherings and lunch outings with her friends.
She is survived by her three children; daughter, Connie (son-in-law, Courtney) Morrison; son, James (companion Patty) Pischel; son, Bruce (daughter-in-law, Rachel) Pischel; seven grandchildren and their spouses; 10 great-grandchildren with two due after the first of the year; and nieces and nephews.
A family viewing will be held at Mt. Whitney Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at Mt. Whitney Cemetery.
An open house potluck will be held after the service at 110 Kellogg, Lone Pine.
