Richard Kenneth Nelson
Richard Kenneth Nelson, age 74, born in Lone Pine on June 15, 1937, died Oct. 2, 2011 in Spokane, Wash.
Richard was raised in Big Pine and resided in Bishop until the early 1970s, when he moved his family to Seeley Lake, Mont. Richard served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. He loved the outdoors.
Survivors include his companion, Mary Young; daughters and son-in-laws, Michelle and Steve Fargan of Wellington, Nev., Nicole and Mitch Stimac of Missoula, Mont and Lindi Nelson of Whitefish, Mont.; granddaughters, Kine and Anaka Stimac of Missoula; brothers and sister-in-laws, Tom and Brenda of Elkridge, Utah, Harry and Linda of Silver Lakes and Larry and Kathy of Bishop; nephews, Brian, Scott, Michael, Brett, Gavin, Brandon, Wesley and Kody Nelson; and niece, Vanessa Maruska.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Lillian Nelson and son, Darin.
The family will have a celebration of life on Oct. 29 in Lolo, Mont.
