Daniel Lee Bostrom

Eldest child and only son to Al and Myrtle “Bink” Bostrom, born May 26, 1934, Daniel Lee Bostrom passed away at his home in Hillsboro, Ore, Sept. 22, 2011.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Marks and her husband Jim; Shawn Bostrom and her son, Jason; daughter, Cheri, her daughter, Heather and grandson, Bill; daughters, Tammy and Heidi and their children; daughter, Nicole and her boys, Dylan and Kevin; daughters, Danielle and Kimberly, and many cousins.
Dan was preceded in death by his sister, Sandie, and her husband, Ron Ellis, who are survived by their son, Ronnie Ellis.
Dan grew up mining all over Idaho, California and Nevada. The family eventually settled in Lone Pine where Dan developed his love of fishing. After graduating from Death Valley Union High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the 37th Air Rescue Squadron during the Korean War. He flew in B29 planes as a ground radio operator and a gunner. From Lone Pine, Dan kept moving north – to Mammoth Lakes, Reno, Sacramento – finally calling Oregon, home. His charm, quick wit, and sincere desire to help others made him a natural salesman – landing him as president of Association Insurance Management, Inc., in Hillsboro, where he devoted himself to his clients and shared his passion with many in the business. Dan had a great voice and loved to sing karaoke. He sounded like Johnny Cash and loved to sing the song, “Old Dogs, Children and Watermelon Wine.” He had a smile and laugh that will stay with those who loved him, forever.
