Howard Fred Little
Howard Fred Little, age 76, resident of Bishop for 54 years, born in Los Angeles on Nov. 11, 1934, died Oct. 2, 2011 at Carson City, Nev.
Howard Fred first came to Bishop as a junior in high school where he excelled in basketball, track and water skiing. One of his hobbies was wood working where family members were the recipients of cedar chests and book stands. His working career as an auto mechanic showed his expertise with foreign and domestic automobiles. For nearly 30 years Howard was a very active volunteer fireman for the city of Bishop. Howard was named Firefighter of the Year in 1992 and reached the rank of Battalion Chief. Howard was a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin as well as a friend.
Survivors include wife of 56 years, Lucy; son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd (Freddy) and Linda Little of Bishop; son, Lynn Little of San Diego; granddaughter and fiancé, Danelle Little and Jeffery Barnett of Santa Clarita; grandsons, Chad Rager and Thomas Chase Little, both of Bishop; and other relatives from the Owens Valley, Los Angeles and Orange counties, Hawaii and Southern Illinois.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 12 at Brune Mortuary Chapel. Thomas Chase Little will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Bishop Volunteer Fire Department.
