Robert Eugene Frazer
Robert Eugene Frazer was born in Tecumeseh, Neb. on July 13, 1923 to Eugene Cooper Sherman and Lema Armona Darnell Sherman and passed away in Bishop on July 14, 2011.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II as a signalman and underwater demolition team member in 13 invasions on the U.S.S. Doyan.
His love was deep sea fishing and building custom fishing rods and repairing fishing reels. He was retired but worked part time at Kenny’s Rod and Reel in Upland, where he was known as “The Reel Doctor.”
He will be truly missed by his many family members and many friends in Southern California as well as here in Bishop.
He is survived by his children, Mike and Debbe Connolly, Darryl Frazer, Larry and Dencie Mejia, Robert Marple and Donald Marple; grandchildren, Rich and Addie Miears, Mick Connolly, Jeff and Des Mejia, Chris and Cory Hoffman, Chad Mejia, his fiance, Rhenee Herold and Nicole Marple; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Eugene Miears, Jessica, Troy and Thomas Mejia and Jayden Hoffman; brothers, Darrell and his wife Geri Sherman of Fernley, Nev. and Richard Sherman of Oceano; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Todd Memorial Chapel in Pomona on July 30, 2011.
