Marvin ‘Marty’ Bramlette

Marty passed away at his home in Bishop July 7, 2011 with his loving wife Jackie at his side.
He was born at Little Lake Calif. to parents Wales G. and MaBelle V. Bramlette. His father and grandfather built the old Little Lake Hotel and ran businesses there. He spent his days there until he was about 10 years old when his parents bought the old Bramlette Ranch in Benton, Calif. above the State Quarantine Station.
He attended grammar school at the old school house on the hill there at Benton Hot Springs and then went to high school in Bishop. He spent most of his years working on the ranch working cattle, haying, irrigating using and maintaining equipment. In the ’50’s he entered the U.S.Navy for four years during the Korean war. He married Jackie and had a son Dale. In the ’60’s they moved to LeeVining where he worked for the Mono County Road Department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he never missed a deer season always trying to outsmart that old buck. He also spent many a happy day on the shore or trolling Grant Lake. He returned to Old Benton after eight years and retired from the county there. During that time he was very active in ham radio. He moved to Bishop later and had a second residence in Arizona where he fished the Colorado River.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie; son, Dale and daughter-in-law Kelly; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
We love and miss him so much.
