James Michael Shoshone

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Allen Spoonhunter Memorial Gym in Big Pine for Big Pine resident James Michael Shoshone.
Born Dec. 28, 1970 in Shurz, Nev. to Marion Spratt and Benny Shoshone, James died Saturday, April 16 in Big Pine.
“Booby,” as he was known, was a kind and loving person. He was always fun to be around and had the greatest sense of humor. He was a huge Laker fan and every Sunday you could count on him yelling at the TV, watching cars go round and round with his NASCAR. He loved and did his best to take care of his family. He especially loved his nieces and nephew, and they loved their uncle Booby.
James graduated from Big Pine High School in 1989. He spent many years in Reno, and Seligman, Mo. before coming back to Big Pine to bless his friends and family with his charm and humor.
“We all love and miss you deeply,” the family said.
James is survived by his sister, Shawnee Duckey; nieces, Hillary Duckey and Rainah Dewey; and nephew, Howard Duckey, Jr.
Anyone who would like to help the family with funeral expenses is invited to contact Violet Pierce at the Big Pine Tribal Office, (760) 938-2003 or her cell phone, (760) 937-4337.
