Margaret Border Gibford
No funeral services are scheduled at this time for Margaret Border Gibford.
Born Sept. 23, 1914 in Bozeman, Mont. to Frank and Anna Rentchler, Margaret, the youngest of seven children, died March 30, 2011 in Bishop.
Margaret grew up in Bozeman and graduated from Bozeman Deaconess Hospital with a degree in nursing in 1935.
She nursed in Montana and California since before World War II and ended her career retiring from the Inyo County Sanatorium in 1978.
She married Jack Gibford on Feb. 3, 1945 in Seattle, Wash., one day before he was shipped into the Pacific Theater.
Margaret and Jack made their home briefly in the San Jacinto/Hemet area after World War II, but soon moved to Bakersfield where they remained for some 12 years. They found their true home in Big Pine in the early 1960s, where they lived for nearly 50 years.
Margaret is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
