No funeral services have been announced for 30-plus-year Bishop resident Dennis Jones.
Dennis died March 14, 2011 after a long, three-year battle with a rare spinal bone cancer. He was 61.
Dennis is the son of Marvin and Nora Jones.
He went to high school in Bishop and married and had two sons, Jade and Dania Jones.
Dennis also served his country in the U.S. Army, serving a tour in Vietnam as a combat engineer, receiving medals and citations.
Upon his return to Bishop he met and fell in love with his wife, Vickie (Stockton) Jones, of Bishop. They had 31 years together. They had a daughter, Brandy, and moved to Lewiston, Idaho where he worked as a gun smith for many years. Dennis loved to fish and hunt, spend time camping in the Sierra and being with friends and family.
He will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved him.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Jones; and grandparents, Blake and Peggy Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie; daughter, Brandy Hamilton; sons, Jade and Dana Jones; two stepsons, Robert and Adam Drummond; brother, Monte Jones; sister, Jana Williamson; grandchildren, Dianna and Christopher Drummond; uncle, PeeWee Jones of Bishop; and numerous nieces and nephews.
