Bishop area residents will have the chance to give their sweethearts the gift of song this Valentine’s Day while contributing to a good cause at the same time.
The Sierra Stars Quartet of the High Sierra Chorus of Sweet Adelines International will be performing Singing Valentine’s on Monday, Feb. 14, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., and again from 5-8 p.m. in the Bishop area.
Sweet Adelines International is a nonprofit music education association for women who sing four-part harmony in the barbershop style.
“This special fundraiser, in part, allows the High Sierra Chorus to support high school music scholarships, as well as donate to the Young Women in Harmony Fund and other barbershop style endeavors,” said quartet member Sara Lokan.
Residents are encouraged to surprise a friend or loved one with a Singing Valentine at work, home, in a restaurant, hospital or care center.
Two songs, a special gift and a personalized card will be delivered for $30. Telephonic Singing Valentines are available for $12.
To reserve a Singing Valentine, or for more information, call (760) 873-6805.
