Bishop’s Lady Broncos scored a decisive 44-33 win over the Frazier Mountain Lady Falcons Tuesday night on home court.
The Broncos are now 4-3 in High Desert League play with back-to-back wins. Bishop has a chance to avenge an earlier loss to Kern Valley tonight at home before going on the road for the final week of league action.
Katelyn Lent got the Broncos off to a good start with a 3-pointer early in the first quarter.
Bishop pulled out to an early lead, finishing off the first quarter with an eight point advantage at 15-7.
By the second quarter, Bishop was taking advantage of Falcon fouls with bonus free throws. Gabby Robertson added 4 quick points to the Broncos’ total from the line.
The low-scoring quarter ended with Bishop ahead by 11 at 23-12, a lead they maintained through the second half.
The Broncos used their speed to combat the significantly taller Falcons. Lent and Shiloh Smith were able to get down court and score before the Falcons knew what happened.
Lent lead the Broncos with 15 points; Smith scored 14.
The Broncos take on Kern Valley tonight before taking to the road in the final two league matches against Rosamond and Desert next week.
