Adrian ‘Adie’ Conway
1926-2008
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 17 at the First United Methodist Church in Bishop for lifelong Bishop resident Adrian “Adie” Conway. The Reverend Caddy Jackson will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 16 from 5-7 p.m. at the Brune Mortuary in Bishop. Burial will be at the East Line Street Cemetery in Bishop.
Born in Bishop on March 1, 1926, Adie died on April 12, 2008 at Northern Inyo Hospital. He was 82.
Adie served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He retired from Caltrans after many years of service. In his earlier days, Adie drove truck for Western Gillette Trucking Co.
He is survived by his grandchildren, John Conway of Rialto, Steven Conway of Rock Island, Ill., Karyn Conway of Anaheim and Jennifer Granara of Bellingham, Wash.; two great-grandchildren; and his special friend, Evelyn Steppler of Bishop.
Donations in memory of Adie may be made to the Laws Railroad Museum, P.O. Box 363, Bishop, CA, 93514.
Robert Williams
1922-2008
Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, April 18 at Brune Mortuary in Bishop for 33-year Bishop resident Robert Williams. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon. Burial will be at the East Line Street Cemetery in Bishop.
Born in Los Angeles on Nov. 26, 1922, Mr. Williams died on April 11, 2008 in Bishop. He was 85.
Mr. Williams was a World War II veteran and worked at TRW Aerospace in Los Angeles for 20 years.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Carol Williams of Crowley Lake; grandson, Kyle Williams of Mammoth; and sister, Shirley McClister of Mission Viejo. |
