It was mistakenly reported in the weekend edition of The Inyo Register ("Sheriff's Dept. launches official probe of Barker Ranch") that it was Inyo County sheriff's deputies who arrested Charles Manson back in October, 1969.
Credit actually goes to officers with the California Highway Patrol.
The Register sincerely regrets the error.
