Helen Holland
1922-2008

A gathering to happily remember the life of Helen Holland will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 5 at the Weed Heights Recreation Hall in Yerington, Nev. Family and friends are invited to sign the online guest book at www.FRFH.net.
Born in San Diego on Feb. 2, 1922, the daughter of Walter and Mildred Tibbals, Helen died Thursday evening, March 20, 2008 at her home in Yerington with her son and daughter at her side. She was 86.
Helen grew up in Bishop. She loved the outdoors and could hike, ski, hunt and fish with the best of them. She loved her family and friends and did much to help anyone who needed her. She had many dear friends that meant a great deal to her and who cared for her during these later years. Special appreciation to Joella Tiscareno for her unselfish love and care.
“Helen is now ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and entertaining the Angels,” family said.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Margaret McCloud.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Angus and Pat McDonald and Colleen Drury; sister, Barbara Beal; brothers, Joe and Don Tibbals; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. All loved her dearly and will miss her.
Donations may be made in Helen’s name to one’s favorite charity or in the form of a tree or flower planted in her remembrance.

Walter D. Lucas
1915-2008

Private, family services will be held for three-year Bishop resident Walter D. Lucas.
Born in St. Claire, Pa., Walter died March 23, 2008 at his home in Bishop. He was 92.
Walter was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He served as an Air Force pilot with the rank of captain.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Elise M. Lucas; daughter, Sandra M. Saari; son-in-law, Robert P. Saari; granddaughters, Jayme M. Saari and Jill N. (Saari) Morriss; and grandson-in-law, David Morriss.

Edith Evelyn McGuire
1915-2008

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25 at Brune Mortuary Chapel in Bishop for eight-year Bishop resident Edith Evelyn McGuire. Barbara Crockett, lay pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Born in San Antonio, Texas on July 31, 1915, Edith died on March 20, 2008 at her daughter’s home in Bishop. She was 92.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Frank; three brothers, Herb Cavin, Melvin Cavin and Charles Cavin; grandson, Timothy McGuire; and granddaughter, Jenny Fath McGuire.
She is survived by four children and their spouses, Patricia Walquist of Townsville, Australia, John and Sandy McGuire of Trona, Pamela and George Brockman of Yuba City and Mary and Rick Pucci of Bishop; 29 grandchildren, Wally and Lucille Walquist, William and Sandie Walquist, Evelyn and Michael Walsh, Kim and Barry Rodgers, Joey Whitehall of Australia, Jackie Adams and Jessica Mass of San Francisco, John and Meichele McGuire of Inyokern, Todd and Sandy McGuire of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Sharon McGuire of Trona, John Eric McGuire of Independence, Mona McGuire of Crowley Lake, Michael and Melissa Brockman of Live Oak, Cory and Katie Brockman of Yuba City, Lorrie and Bobbie Baumgarder of Dyer, Nev., Tami and Justin Rossi of Bishop, Dean Pucci of Fullerton and Ricky and Alana Pucci of Petaluma; 38 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and another great-great-grandchild on the way.
