Sheryl Greer, Ted Erlwein and Andrew Sundsboe (l-r) of High Sierra Consulting drop off presents at The Inyo Register for the Wish Tree Program. As the business has done every since its inception, instead of buying customer-appreciation gift baskets at the end of the year, it makes donations in clients’ names in order to fulfill local children’s Christmas wishes. For High Sierra Consulting, 2007 offered continuing success and the chance to once again help make life better for some of the community’s youngest members.
This is the third year High Sierra Consulting has donated to IMACA’s Wish Tree Program in lieu of sending out fruit baskets for customer appreciation, and according to CEO and founder Ted Erlwein, High Sierra Consultant’s clients don’t mind one bit. “We appreciate our clients, and in this holiday time, there are many that are not as fortunate as we. It is something simple we as a business can do, we use our same budget that we establish to send our customers a gift of appreciation, and instead we donate to the Wish Tree,” Erlwein said. “In this way the community benefits, and our clients are more than pleased that they can be part of something that goes much farther than a treat that will sit on a kitchen table.” High Sierra Consulting clients are given a card detailing the donation made in their name and thanking them for their business. “This was a very good year for High Sierra Consulting, and additionally we were able to make the holidays extra special,” Erlwein continued. High Sierra Consulting chose 25 holiday bulbs that represented numerous Christmas wishes of dozens of children throughout Inyo County, Chalfant and Benton that will now be fulfilled. “This year their wishes will come true,” Erlwein said. He also challenged other Inyo County business owners and operators to get involved in future Wish Tree Programs (the deadline for the 2007 Wish Tree was Friday, Dec. 14). “Giving to the tree makes so much more of a difference than sweets or a pencil with your company name on it,” said Erlwein, expressing his gratitude to all involved in the program, from its organizers to businesses who host wish trees to the countless volunteers. High Sierra Consulting was founded in 2004 to help small businesses bridge the gap and participate in the governmental bid process of all levels of contracting on the local, state and federal level as well as GSA Federal Supply Schedule development. High Sierra Consulting is a local success story, starting in a spare bedroom, and growing to an organization serving clients in 22 states. |
