Jay Warren Fansler
1952-2007

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 at the Oasis of Grace Foursquare Church, 568 Central Ave., Bishop, for Bishop resident Jay Warren Fansler.
Born June 23, 1952 to Warren and Ellen Fansler in Bishop, Jay died on Sept. 4, 2007. He was 55.
Jay lived his life in Bishop. He loved the outdoors. Horseback riding, fishing, gardening and working in his yard were just a few of his favorite pasttimes. He was also a talented artist and was always sketching and drawing.
Jay was always willing to lend a helping hand to whoever needed him. He almost always had a smile on his face and a funny story to tell that would have everyone laughing. He cherished the times spent with family and friends. As his illness progressed, no matter how much pain he was in, he seemed to be able to keep a positive attitude.
His smile and laughter will be missed by everyone.
Jay was preceded in death by his father, Warren Fansler.
He is survived by his mother, Ellen Fansler of Reno; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Toni Fansler of Reno; sisters, Carolyn Williams and Sherri Fansler of Reno; nieces, Katie Fansler, Richelle Taylor, Cindy Hall, McKenzie Williams and Gina Fansler; nephews, Larry Williams, Greg Williams, Trevor Williams and Eric Fansler; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He also had very special people in his life that he considered family which include Venneida, Shane, Zachary and Brendan Wade of Citrus Heights, and Dick and Donna Pride of Bishop.

Arthur W. Naylor
1927-2007

A private family memorial service was held on Sept. 11, 2007 (Patriot Day) for 17-year Bishop resident Arthur W. Naylor.
Born in Glendora on Jan. 31, 1927, Arthur died Sept. 6, 2007 at the Bishop Care Center.
His parents chose to settle in Bishop in the late 1950s because they loved to fish. Art became a permanent resident himself when he retired in 1989.
He loved gardening, doing crossword puzzles and fishing the Owens River and nearby lakes. His quiet strength and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
Arthur is survived by his first wife and lifelong friend, Alberta Gregory; daughters, Trudy Naylor of Bishop, Vicky Ellis of Costa Mesa and Kathy Summers of Redlands; son, Vance Naylor of Powell, Wyo.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A small, private family service has already been held in honor of Diane Lea Smith.
Born Nov. 11, 1932 to Ernest Sansome and Juanita Walsh Sansome in Hawthorne, Diane Lea Smith died on Sept. 3, 2007 after waging a courageous battle with cancer.
