Photo by Greg Lippincott By Kellie Caparula Sports Editor 2-2-2010 In another dominant performance the Bishop boys soccer team thumped Desert 6-0 Saturday. The scoring came fast for the Bronocs as they took a big lead at half. About five minuets into the game Danny Lopez scored off an assist from David Torres. Bishop quickly added to their score as Ignacio Santana scored soon after off a Hector Gonzalez assist. The Broncos scored 3 more goals before the half was over. Christian Hernandez scored the third goal off a pass from Lopez. Torres scored the last 2 goals of the half. The first of Torres’ goals came off an assist by Hernandez and the second come from a pass by Gonzalez. In the second half Bishop started to work on its passing and play a possession game and added to its score. Gonzalez scored the Broncos final goal off a pass by Kenny Hernandez. Even though his squad got a commanding win, Bishop Boys Soccer Head Coach John McGurke wasn’t 100 percent pleased with his team’s play. “I thought we could have played better, the goals do not matter its how you play the game,” McGurke said. McGurke felt his team picked up its play in the second half, he said. Bishop plays again Thursday at Kern Valley.
