Photo by Greg Lippincott By Kellie Caparula Sports Staff 1-8-2009 The holiday break left the Bishop girls soccer team anything but rusty, as the squad shellacked Rosamond 12-0 Tuesday in its first game since the break. Bishop had no problem finding the back of the net with Mikaela Griffiths, Kaleigh McClinton and Jenna Sliger all scoring hat tricks. The other three goals were added by Alex Tillemans who scored twice and Katie Hudson who added one goal. Assisting the goals were Michelle Franks and Katie Hudson.
Goalie Janelle Freeman was able to keep the game a shutout, after knocking away the Roadrunners’ best chance at a goal with a header. Freeman got some help on defense from Stephanie O’Quinn, Megan Watt, Coral Flores and Brianna Hogue. Goalies Michelle McKinley and Sliger also gave their team a boost. Bishop plays again today against Frazier Mountain at 3 p.m.
