Superior Court Judge Brian Lamb 3,507 50.59%
Tom Hardy 3,425 49.41% As preliminary results come in for the run-off between incumbent Brian Lamb and challenger Tom Hardy, Lamb is leading by a narrow margin with the race still too close to call. With approximately 1,200 absentee votes still to be counted, the final vote could go either way. Hardy and Lamb are in a run-off after a close race in June, when both Lamb and Hardy failed to win a majority vote but were able to knock challenger Mark Johnson out of the race. A final count of Inyo County ballots should be made available Friday.
25th Congressional District 3,691 54.82%
Jackie Conaway 3,042 45.18% Early returns from Tuesday's election showed incumbent Howard P. "Buck" McKeon (R-Santa Clarita) far ahead of his challenger, Jackie Conaway, a Democrat from Barstow, in the race for the 25th District. Inyo is about on par with the rest of the 25th district, which awarded the incumbent 108,940 or 58.0% of the votes district-wide. Conaway received 78,952 or 42.0%. McKeon has served as the representative of the 25th Congressional District since 1992. While on the campaign trail, McKeon said his top three goals would be to address rising gas prices through expansion of domestic energy production, including off-shore drilling; to “stem the tide” of illegal immigration with tougher enforcement; and to secure passage of two of his legislative proposals – the Soledad Canyon Mine Act and the Eastern Sierra and Northern San Gabriel Wild Heritage Act.

With 290 of 327 precincts reporting, Conway has 58,089 or 63.8% of the votes. Farrelly has received 32,989 or 36.2%. Conway had worked in healthcare before being elected to the Tulare County Board of Supervisors in 2000. During her two terms, she also served as chairperson for the board. Farrelly is a Visalia native, teacher farmer and small business owner. Both candidates are seeking to replace long-time incumbent Bill Maze, who is stepping down this year due to term limitations. LONE PINE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT (Four Candidates for Two Open Seats) Matt Kingsley 489 or 31.43% of the votes Cathy George 385 or 24.74% of the votes LeRoy Kritz 382 or 24.55% of the votes Sandy Langley 300 or 19.28% of the votes An early tally of the district's votes suggest that challenger Matt Kingsley and incumbent Cathy George will take the two open seats on the Lone Pine Unified School Board but the race is still too close to call, with only three votes seperating George and challenger LeRoy Kritz, and 82 votes seperating Kritz from incumbent Sandy Langley. The final election results will be released when the remaining 1,200 absentee ballots are counted later this week.
TRONA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT (Three Candidates for Two Open Seats) Gary Hess 14 or 43.75% of the votes Daniel Foster 11 or 34.38% of the votes Bob Wilhelm 7 or 21.88% of the votes An unofficial ballot count gives the lead to Gary H. Hess, followed by Daniel J. Foster and Bob R. Wilhelm. The election will be decided later this week, when the remainder of Inyo County's absentee ballots are counted. Trona is an all-mail-in precinct, so the close race is still undecided.
DEATH VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT (Two Candidates for One Open Seat) Crystal Aldrich 34 or 61.82% of the votes Cheryl Zellhoefer 21 or 38.18% of the votes A rough tally of the ballots Tuesday evening reveals Crystal Aldrich has the lead over Cheryl Zellhoefer. Like many of the races in Inyo County, it is too close to call, and the results of about 1,200 absentee ballots could change the outcome of the election.
