Franklin Earl West Jr. was born in Clarksburg, W.V., on March 16, 1935 where his grandmother had a little restaurant called the Cozy Corner. In later years, his mom had a little Restaurant called the HI-HO. Oh the stories he would tell.
The Bishop Broncos football squads will start their season this Friday under a new program, one that similar sized schools have used for a while.
Both the varsity and junior varsity teams will be practicing together and partially sharing the coaching staff. âIt brings the teams closer,â said head coach Bill Egan. âSchools like Sierra Canyon and Paraclete have been using this program; it puts the emphasis on consistency and experience.â

Inyo County District Attorney Tom Hardy has reached a plea agreement with Bishop resident Cherie Matteson nĂ©e LeBraque who was accused last year of illegally accessing medical records at Northern Inyo Hospital.
The proposed plea agreement states that LaBraque enters a plea of guilty or no contest to unlawfully accessing medical records (a misdemeanor) and that she be placed on probation for three years.

Inyo County Public Works and Wadell Engineering Corporation are inviting residents to a series of public meetings next week designed to help shape the future of the Eastern Sierra regional Airport in Bishop.
On Aug. 25 and 26, Public Works will present the details of the Bishop Airport Layout Plan to interested community members.
According to county Public Works Director Clint Quilter, the layout plan builds upon the 2004 Bishop Airport Master Plan, prioritizing several key infrastructure improvements and upgrades discussed in the Master Plan.
