The Bishop Lady Broncos JV softball team scored a 9-2 win over Burroughs at Ridgecrest Saturday, ending the day with a loss in game two.
âThe girls played the best Iâve seen them play so far,â said coach Patty Cummings. âThe umpire even commented on how great the first game was for both teams.â
Shelby Logan started Bishopâs scoring drive in the first inning with a single. Sacrifice flies by Mariah Brooks and Korina Toledo moved Logan into scoring position and Tiarney Andreasâ single brought her home.

Belmont Shore Rugby Club came to Bishop last Saturday for its first match with the Jacks and left town with a 62-12 victory.
Belmontâs win assures the Long Beach team first place in the North section of Division IV of the Southern California Rugby Football Union.
The more experienced Belmont team scored three times in the first 21 minutes of play, most of the damage inflicted by their powerful number 8 who slashed through the Jacksâ defense with tackle-breaking runs.
