The Tri-County Fairâs Destruction Derby looks like anger management gone very wrong, or the San Diego Freeway at rush hour. Sometimes itâs hard to tell the difference.
Buckled hoods, accordioned trunks, bumpers dangling by thin membranes, steam spewing from fractured radiators; itâs all great fun and the major fundraiser for the Bishop Volunteer Fire Department for the last 35 years.

SOUTH LAKE
The bite remained steady this week following a 1,200-lb. stocking by the Dept. of Fish and Game, but overall things have slowed down a bit.
Big fish are being seen and and hooked but very few were landed.
All three inlets have tons of fish but fishing pressure has them a little spooky. Folks are doing best on mini-jigs, Powerworms and nightcrawlers fished under a bobber.
Remember folks, do not use weight or a swivel with mini-jigs â just tie them straight to your 2-lb. or 4-lb. test line.

LAKE SABRINA BOAT LANDING
Wow, what a week!
A thousand pounds of fish from Department of Fish and Game on Aug. 1 and then last Friday, here comes the stock truck again with another 1,500 pounds of fish. We were all doing the woo-hoo dance - thatâs a lotta fish!
Thank you, DFG!
So to the catching and lots of it, fishing was great - thanks to the 2,500 pounds of fish.
