The Second Annual Jerry âJJâ Davis Memorial One-Pitch Softball Tournament played out last weekend with the Dream Catchers taking the championship in the final game Sunday afternoon.
The Dream Catchers, sponsored by Chris Holt of Hi Country Market of Big Pine, beat the Jokers 6-5 after taking out the Jacksons, the BSâers and Team Meat. The Jokers faced down the Redtails, Swing Men and One Hit at a Time to secure a spot in the final round.
Twelve teams in all competed in the two-day tournament. Proceeds from the event go to Davisâ three children.

Four Coed C teams faced off Friday, Aug. 12, in the semifinal rounds of the championship tournament.
The CBC Crusaders went on to the finals and the championship, but first had to take on Unloaded.
The game went into extra innings before the Crusaders came out with a 1-point win.
Unloaded went out to an early lead that held until the sixth inning.
Mona Amado, Tony Alger and Amber Richards loaded the bases with singles, setting the stage for a 3-run top of the first.
The teamâs defense held the Crusadaers to a 1-hit, 0-run bottom of the inning.
