Eastern Sierra Sliders Host Reining Clinic
Sandy Day will be conducting reining clinics at the Indian Creek Ranch, April 9-10.
Day has raised, trained and taken horses to the finals in major NRCHA and NRHA events and will share her knowledge with locals. Morning and afternoon sessions will be limited to five riders each for a total of 20 slots over the two days. Riders fee is $60 per session; auditors $20 a day.

Final Standings
In an effort to get as many games under the Lady Broncosâ belts before the High Desert League softball matches start April 5, Broncos coach Stacy Van Nest contacted Burroughs to set up a game for last Friday.
The outcome was valuable experience but a 3-11 loss to the tough Ridgecrest team.
âWe put the ball in play,â said Van Nest, âbut just needed to string more hits together and be more solid on defense.â
The game went a full seven innings. Burroughs held Bishop to one run through five innings.

Murphyâs Law could be applied to the Bishop Broncosâ match-up with the Burroughs Burros Saturday. With the exception of a few moments of great Broncos baseball, everything that could go wrong ⊠you know the rest.
Too many Broncos stranded on base, too many errors, too many walks, but coach Tim Reid found the silver lining in the 8-5 loss. âI was proud of the way the team battled,â said Reid. âWe shouldnât have even been in the game,â he said in reference to the tough Burros, a team that had leveled Rosamond 20-4 in a pre-league game March 22.
After a 25-year absence, the Return of a Classic Event will make its debut in California City with the running of the California City Gran Prix, April 15-17.
This event was once a major attraction in the deserts of Southern California, but then it went away. The then promoter decided to retire and requirements surrounding the desert became even more difficult to meet.
