Darryl was born in Denver Colo. to Henry and Lyla Truelsen. The family moved to California when Darryl was 6 years old and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. He loved fishing from an early age and baseball. A born-to-be salesman, his neighborhood would see him coming and get out their pocketbooks, never saying ‚Äúno, not today.‚ÄĚ
Graduating from Van Nuys High School in 1955, he joined the Navy and was a radio operator aboard the USS Purvis and the USS Fessenden, where he traveled through both the Suez and Panama canals.
Beverly Faith Nixon
Beverly Faith Nixon, born Feb. 18, 1928, passed away peacefully on ¬†Feb. 8, 2014 at Carson-Tahoe Medical Center, Carson City, Nev.
Beverly was born in Forest City, Iowa where she spent her younger years. She moved to Santa Monica with her mother, Eunice Swenson, during World War II. She lived most of her life in Southern California, with the past 21 years in Bishop. ¬†
Deanne Kilpatrick, 90, died Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Valley Inn in Mancos, Colo. Private services will be held at a later date to celebrate Deanne and her late husband of 73.5 years, Bud.

Katori Cambria Ann Taylor, 2 days old, born March 8, 2014, passed away on March 10, 2014 in Los Angeles.
Katori was preceded in death by her sister, Katana Taylor; great-grandparents, Michael and Janet Strickler; great-grandpa, John McKellips; and great-great-grandparents, Ila and David Connell.
Ronnie Thomas Roberts
Born June 13, 1934 in Tacoma, Wash., Ronnie Roberts often commented that he ‚Äúdidn‚Äôt stay in Tacoma long enough to get rained on.‚ÄĚ
Ronnie grew up in the Southern California communities of Alhambra and Long Beach. He attended Long Beach Poly High School where he played football and was part of the Comus Club. He continued playing football for Whittier College, which he attended from 1953-57, earning his B.A. in Psychology, Political Science and Religion. At Whittier, he was part of the Lancer Society.
Pat Beck, long-time resident on Irene Way, died peacefully on March 9, 2014 at Grangeville Health and Rehab in Grangeville, Idaho. She was 84 years old. Born in Colorado Springs, Colo. in 1929, to Ora and Lena Mae Rupe, she moved to Los Angeles at age 16 where she married the love of her life, Mel Beck, in 1950. They moved to Bishop in 1957 with their three children. Mel owned and managed Highway Auto Service and Beck‚Äôs Backhoe Service until his death in 1978.
Debra Lea O‚ÄôNeal
Debra Lea O‚ÄôNeal, 59, passed away March 8, 2014 at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Furstenfeldbruck, Germany on Dec. 20, 1954. She graduated from Simi Valley High School and after graduating she headed the Corporate Suggestion Program at Home Savings. She moved to Bishop with her husband Steve in 1991, where they raised their family.
Lloyd Edward Knight
Lifelong Bishop resident Lloyd Edward Knight, 91, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2014, with his loving family by his side. Lloyd was born in Provo, Utah on Dec. 6, 1922 to Frank and Blanche Knight.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Myrtle; daughters, Lynette Williamson and husband Bart of Bishop, Debbie Jeffery and husband, George of Oxnard; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Lloyd was loved very deeply by his family and he will be missed greatly.
Richard David ‚ÄėDick‚Äô Finch
Richard David ‚ÄúDick‚ÄĚ Finch died March 4, 2014, in Bishop. He was 91.
He was born Jan. 5, 1923, in LaMoure, N.D., to Clarence L. and Bertha Simonson Finch. The family later moved to Bozeman, Mont., where Richard graduated from high school. He received a bachelor‚Äôs degree in engineering physics from the University of Montana, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-46, including a tour of duty in the Philippines.
He married Kristine Hoverson on Sept. 29, 1945, in Bozeman and they enjoyed 67 happy years together. She died Oct. 1, 2012.
